1. WHAT GRADES MAKE UP THE STUDENT MINISTRY?
-Our ministry is for students who are currently in 6th - 12th grade.
2. WHAT AGES MAKE UP THE YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY?
-Our college age ministry is for anyone in the 18-35 age range.
3. IS THERE FINANCIAL HELP AVAILABLE FOR STUDENT EVENTS?
-We are committed to making our events accessible to all. If you are ever unable to cover all or partial costs associated with an event, please contact our student minister prior to the registration deadline by EMAIL GCCJR@ATT.NET or at 931-368-0515. All financial requests are kept strictly confidential.
4. WHAT TYPE OF BIBLE YOU WOULD RECOMMEND FOR STUDENTS?
-There are a lot of different translations available. We use the NIV and NASB at Pursue. We give all our new Christians at GCC a NIV Study Bible when they are baptized. While I don't recommend anyone make a paraphrase their primary bible, The Message or New Living Translation it is a good reference if a certain verse is hard to understand. The NASB translation is a more literal translation from the original manuscripts. It is recomended for mature believers.
5. MY TEEN MAY NEED COUNSELING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
-We would be happy to talk with your son/daughter. We are not trained, licensed counselors, but we can speak to your teen concerning the spiritual nature of issues. For major, psychological issues we recommend a licensed, professional counselor. To speak with one, please contact our church at 931-368-0515.
6. HOW CAN PARENTS GET INVOLVED IN THE STUDENT MINISTRY?
-Contact our Youth Pastor Ben Jones at HERE.
-Or cal Ben's cell: 507-402-7727
7. MY TEEN WANTS TO ACCEPT CHRIST. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
-First, give them the biggest bear hug you can muster, that's the greatest news you'll ever receive! Second, we would love to talk with both you and your teen concerning their decision. Class 101 will give you ALL the info you could need for making this decision. It is offerd every 1st sunday of the month after the sunday church service. Please contact us so we can set up a time to meet and celebrate together.
